Firefight

White Rock, BC

A disastrous fire in White Rock Sunday morning! I heard that a bin beside an almost finished condominium building exploded and destroyed that building. Flames then caught on the breeze and ignited a fully occupied condominium on the north side of the block pretty much destroying that building. They fought this all day. This was in late afternoon where the flames were still shooting out between the wall and roof spaces.
100 more homeless people out there now.

A bit of an update - it looks like some of the businesses located on the bottom floor of the 2nd building may be able to just clean up from smoke and a ton of water damage. I originally heard the building might be demolished due to the extent of damage to the top 2 floors (which look destroyed to me). Hoping now the building will just be reconstructed.

Powerful capture, Carol. Sorry hear that this affected so many. Silver lining (aside from this capture) is that no one was hurt, yes?

An excellent Journalistic image. British Columbia has had some tragic fires lately. I was in Banff during the fire in Alberta. We were all concerned fro the evacuees.
