Janet has created this from scanned images from older film cameras and newer digital images. It shows a Limber Pine on the rim near Sunrise Point. It is about 100 years old and you can see how erosion of the rim has exposed the upper portion of its roots. If you photograph this tree, do so from the fenced viewing area or the trail as standing near it can compact the soil, harming its roots, or increase erosion.
