Thank you, Mark. I hadn't focused on the color coordination, but in fact it runs all the way through it, I guess. This is a really different kind of shot for me at the Haarii races; I usually catch the boats as they pass in front of me. I went again today and was concentrating on closeups of the rowers and pictures of people I knew who were racing, including an Okinawan bar owner and members of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marines. I don't know the significance of the red flag -- good question -- but I'll check it out. Helen

Helen, great shot! The color pattern of the boat, matches up well with the group of men all wearing white shirts, with black hair. It's very cool! I am always fascinated by your cultural captures, Helen. Do you have any idea as to the significance of the red flag at the front of the boat? Mark J

Helen, I especially like your perspective on this "team row"...interesting boat and crew. MFC

Another wonderful picture Helen! The boat is beautiful and it is enhanced by the men rowing in unison. Thanks so much for sharing the sights of Japan with some of us who may never get to see them firsthand :-). Lisafx
