This is typical of what I saw while driving on US 101 through San Francisco. After cruising over the Golden Gate Bridge, one must endure a nightmare of stop-and-go traffic with a zillion traffic lights. Patience there is a virtue!

There is an interstate highway on the east side of the bay.
I thought I would encounter more traffic on that route.
