Bobcat and Prey VIDEO

Copyright © Lewis Scharpf

Video of:
Bobcat: Lynx rufus floridanus (Florida subspecies)
Prey: Eastern Cottontail Rabbit Sylvilagus floridanus
Sand Beach Tower Road
Apalachicola River Wildlife and Environmental Area
Eastpoint Florida
Note: The Bobcat was uncertain as to whether to grab
the rabbit or to run for the woods after spotting our car.

The animals were approximately 100 yards away which precluded sharp images.

Thanks for the nice comment. I agree that the Bobcat was hyper. I do think we were close enough to make the animal very nervous but I didn't have enough reach with my camera lens to be any further away and still maintain reasonable resolution.

Fantastic capture! Liked the video, but you may have been too close as the bobcat seemed hyper!
