Musinah Hamat is from Ethiopia, but lives in an area of Nairobi known as 'Little Mogadishu'. With assistance from an organisation supported by RIJ she has been able to build up her own stock, which she sells from a pavement stall. Musinah and her three children used to eat once per day, as she was always reliant on others, but now that she has a business she has a measure of independence and her family eats 2-3 times per day.
We asked if I could take Musinah's photograph. She replied that we would need her husband's permission for that - but he was elsewhere - so she told me quickly to take some photographs before he returned.
