It started off cold and icy yesterday morning but soon warmed up beautifully. By mid-day there were lots of birds around the conservation area, including 'gangs' of jays, crows, ravens, black-capped chickadees, a rusty blackbird, robins, white-breasted nuthatches, brown creeper, dark-eyed juncos, both downy and hairy woodpeckers. This jay was near the feeder and was grabbing up lots of sunflower seeds... you can his crop is quite extended!
