I guess I’m ending this short gallery on a somewhat anticlimactic note with this picture of the Emir Pavilion at the airport, where my first gallery from this second visit to Doha began. It does sit on the water, but of course I wasn’t on the right side (or on a boat) to get that. Still, I think the building is quite interesting. From all the pictures I’ve posted, mainly of Doha, it must be obvious that I really like Qatar and am already planning another trip there to see what we missed. Thanks for all the kind comments and votes! They are greatly appreciated.
Now of course my perennial question of what next… I have some captures from Riyadh, but we have been unable to do much touring around town due to the fact that our car was in the shop for two weeks over the long Eid holiday as it needed four new tires that had to be ordered from Munich. We haven’t been able to take any trips since we returned from Morocco in April because of Tim’s broken foot. The bone has healed, but the rare syndrome caused by the trauma has not resolved, so he is being medevaced to Washington tomorrow for consultations with hopefully more competent doctors than here. Which means, I can’t go anywhere on my own for several weeks except for around the DQ, all of which I have photographed already. I guess it’s time to think about looking at my very old pictures from Oslo, Barcelona and Budapest!
