When comparing this image with your "Cosy couple" image, several things are important. The tight cropping here allows you to show more detail in the birds and careful adjustment of brightness would have allowed you to overcome the dullness of the feathers. The position of the bird on the right is more interesting than in the other image, but it does not add a lot to the nature story. Because there is nothing but the birds and the tree hollow in this image it tells us less about the surrounding environment, but that does not diminish the nature story significantly. Overall, this is a stronger image than "Cosy couple" but careful processing would improve it considerably. In general, it is not a good idea to enter two very similar images in the same competition.
