You have appropriate detail and rich colours in your subject, so that's a good start. Your chosen camera angle allowed you to show something of the context and it certainly emphasises the strength in the upper body of the subject by contrasting it with the relatively small "rear end". However, this "over the shoulder" view also draws attention to the background and this is rather cluttered with parts of birds. By exploring different camera angles you might have been able to produce a stronger image, but since this was taken at 300mm I assume your options were very limited.
