Top Image; Five images of some 25 I took of this young male sitting on our clothesline, preening and drying out after a rain.
A single, slightly larger crop image.
Note: This little Hummer seems to be taking possession of our back yard now. He is constantly overlooking his kingdom from either our clothesline, from a branch or from one of the perches I've erected. We often see him chasing away much bigger birds like chickadees, Sparrows and Goldfinches. He has also gotten used to my presence and to the clicking of the camera. Where initially, he would take off as soon as I stepped into the yard, he now often tolerates me to within several feet. Once, he almost perched on my lens and twice he almost took my ear off in a super fast fly-by. Good thing I wasn't blushing red at the time or he might have stopped and looked for nectar in my ear.
