336Skv F-5B 387 (64-13387, c/n N9001) pictured at Kleine-Brogel in September 1991. Next to it you can see the tail of F-5A 132 of the same unit. 336 Skvadron from Rygge was a Tiger squadron between 1976 and 1999, when the unit was disbanded. 387 is one of the Freedom Fighters still stored at Moss airport, Rygge, after retirement in 2000.
Norway received 108 Northrop F-5's from February 1966 onwards, replacing the F-86 Sabre. Six squadrons were equipped with the Freedom Fighter. 336Skv was the first and last unit to fly the F-5. In total, Norwegian F-5's flew 339,359 hours in active service.
