Teacher and superintendent of schools – Trustee of Norwich University, 1848 – 1850 – Held nearly every town elected office – Represented the town in the state constitutional convention in 1850 – Colonel in the Vermont State Militia – Commanded several companies of the militia on June 28, 1825 at Windsor, Vermont to welcome General Lafayette to the State of Vermon – One of the most influential and promanant citizens of Norwich in his day.
