I saw the title, I saw the image, and was wondering if maybe you'd either selected the wrong image or had the camera pointed in the wrong direction, because I expected actual chooks. I've not heard the name Hen & Chicks applied to flowers like these before; I always thought the term was more for succulents which radiate outward (the chicks) from a central core (the hen), but of course as experience can attest things, including words, may be quite different in Ireland. I'm thinking some kind of delphinium, maybe... regardless, the wave like pattern that they make against the green is most attractive indeed.
