Elephant Seals can dive to depths of 1,000 to 2,000 feet and have
been known to stay under water for up to 2 hours. When migrating
they are solitary often not seeing other elephant seals along their
route. They feed constantly, not even stopping to sleep although
they do "cat nap"below the ocean surface.
