Kookaburra In Tree

This kookaburra was sitting in the melaleuca
for some time an allowed me to get lots of shots of him.
Indigenous Australians believe that when one hears a kookaburra laugh,
it is a warning that there are snakes around!!

Looks like a young one, Elaine. A lovely shot of one of these noisy birds. We never see or hear them, around here.
