Cushions

We saw these everywhere, but I must admit didn’t know what they were. I finally asked, and they’re for cushions.

A mobile vendor inside the Bab R’Cif, posted earlier:

Very colourful, and a great pattern picture. I like the inclusion of the person, to give it scale.

Certainly not for sitting on - I'd never fit LOL :-)

So many beautiful colors and clarity in this patchwork quilt of cushions. The small boy in the lower left is a nice addition. Incredible craftsmanship in these cushions. Very well seen. Voted

Yes, as the Ellisons say, they used to be quite popular, including in Australia, where we referred to them as pouffés, when I was a kid. They were used a footstools, by kids as stools (as they're quite high when filled). They were leather and had a zipper underneath for filling them. I forget what they used to be filled with, but old cut up rags, like in the old flock mattresses would work.

Lovely colourful collection!
They are actually called tuffet, pouffe or hassock, and (used to be) quite popular in European homes. It's nice that they sell them as empty shells in Morocco, so you can buy it as a flat piece and fill it with feathers or whatever at home.

Look like pet beds to me! (Of course they might love to chew on them.)
