Rabat medina

An exotic but not uncommon door in the Rabat medina (old walled city). When we first arrived in Rabat around midnight after our flight from Riyadh, we were guided through the medina maze to our riad (accommodation), and I could see all these fascinating doors but was unable to photograph them due to a lack of light. So I took a few pictures on our way out the next morning, holding up the people carrying our luggage in the process. Normally I wouldn’t worry about being left behind, but getting lost in a Moroccan medina -- especially when you're in a hurry -- isn’t a good idea.

Posted earlier, the door to one of the rooms at Riad Kalaa:

This is exceptionally appealing... much more simple in design and colour than some of the things we've seen, but so beautiful. V
