Our hallway is a horrible, skanky mess. It always has been. Today the work has started to change it from one of the nastier parts of the rats’ nest to one of the better parts. We scoped out the job a couple of weeks ago, bought (some of) the materials last weekend and today we actually used tools and the materials we’d bought to start work.

I am the grunt who’s been removing donkeys’ years old wallpaper (several layers) and preparing for the wainscoting meister to go to work. These are his tools laid out on the carpet after he finished work for today.
