At the airshow last weekend we got the opportunity to see many of the jets and other planes used in WWI, WWII, VietNam, Korea, Iran/Iraq and Afghanistan.
This was one plane (I wish I could remember the type of jet - those things don't stick in my brain) that we spent a great deal of time around, because the two gentlemen standing next to it actually flew it.
They were fascinating to listen to and I could barely tear myself away. It almost felt as if they wanted to speak to someone about what happened.
The white-haired gentleman is actually Capt. Larry Sietsma, whose name is on the jet.
I was honored that he took the time to speak to me about some of his missions, the jet and himself.
As for the "old" part - I meant the jet, not the pilots. ;)
