Old and Not Old

Mt. Olivet Cemetery, San Rafael, CA

The shorter headstone was placed in 1888 - quite old.
Sadly it was for a boy who was born in 1875, Timothy Edward Myres, who died at only 13 years old - not old at all.

Old tree trunks with old tombstones. Beautiful setting. I love cemeteries, too.

Lovely old stones that have seen a lot. It makes one wonder about the families of the dearly departed. And what happened.

The angles of the leaning tombstones and the leaning trees are wonderful. I also like the colour difference between the old and the new(er).

I thought I was the only person who likes taking pictures in cemeteries. I do love old tombstones (rather than the new ones that all look alike). I often wonder about the people and what their lives were like back then.
