Disappointed that my spot only held one swan as the previous week there had been 80. I noticed it only had one leg and was probably the reason he was by himself and unable to take flight. Just as I was deciding to find another location, a coyote burst from the the brush and swam across the open water. After struggling to get back on top of the ice, the coyote glanced at the swan but heard my shutter releases. That was enough for him to hightail it out of there into the swamp!
