The disappearing waterfall

Harehope Gill normally flows into Bollihope Burn, but this morning I noticed it doesn't anymore.
There's a pothole appeared at the bottom of the waterfall and the stream disappears underground.
When I looked into the hole I could see a tennis ball Sam lost the other day, but I couldn't reach it.

perhaps the fractured rock offers an explanation...still a pretty waterfall..

Sink hole are known to swallow small streams, branches really, here. Interesting phenomenon. Good fall shot, John.
