Taqah Fort

Taqah Castle is relatively new, built in the 19th century, and used to be the home of a tribal leader who was the grandfather of the mother of the current sultan.

There is also a fort above the castle, but I read it was closed to the public. I didn’t feel like climbing all those stairs to verify it.

A view of the castle itself:

A very defensive looking fort - I would pass on that climb too :) Neat shot - I like how the buildings blend into the environment V
