... is the battery indicator, which shows you a bright green fully lit battery... right up to the second that it starts flashing red, then a few minutes later announces "Battery Empty".
The objects of today's PAD were as follows:
(a) To do some candid shooting, if for no other reason than the PBase sample gallery for the 40-150 consists of only 23 shots at the time of writing, all of which are mine and I want to add some diversity to it beyond surfing and aircraft.
(b) To get some idea of the DOF that I'll get at various settings, beginning with a background which is close to the subject such as this hoarding in front of the construction site of the new Exhibition Centre.
(c) To try various AV settings.
(d) To see what effect the circular polariser filter will have on the 40-150.
I got (a) done before I got a big red "BATTERY EMPTY" message on the back. At some point I'll need to get some backup batteries but the credit card has enough dents in it at present.
Anyway, the pick of the bunch was this most likely very extroverted and interesting character, who almost looks like he might be contemplating visiting the 1988 extension to the NSW Art Gallery. Duude! (If you're going to shoot candids, it's better to at least get interesting looking subjects.)
I'd estimate the range to him to be in the 15-20 metre band with only about a metre (if that) between him and the hoarding. Later on I want to try some with much more distant backgrounds.
