I don't know why this is blocked. Sign implies it is the way to Devil's Rest. Walked over the branches blocking the trail but after climbing about 300 feet, it started going downhill again so I turned around. 30 years ago, I succeeded in climbing to Devil's Rest and took a photo of Devil's Chair.
