Unfortunately, I don't know what the relationship between this town is and roosters, but, just as the rabbit symbolises the King of Thailand (being his year of birth in the Buddhist zodiac of animals) the rooster is significant throughout the town. Can't read Thai script, so couldn't read any explanatory details and couldn't ask.
