Lamphun: about 20-odd kms from Chiang Mai, to the south-eastwe got there on the bus, similar to the Lao Song Teo. The main point of interest was the Wat and there are a few shots of the streets around, my favourite of which is the barber. The wats and spires were gorgeous. There were two areas of shops & stalls, and forgive my memory, one was in a bridge area behind the war. This town had a theme of roosters, some of which displayed necklaces, some which adorned the areas close to the spirit houses and some which were on sort-of stages. All-in-all, it was a memorable place to visit and very accessible from Chiang Mai. 26/12/14: I just did a check on Google and it seems that indeed the Wat is a 'home wat' for those who were born in the year of the Rooster - so our observations were valid.
