The only place in the world where the public can walk on the floor of an "offshore oil rig"

Built in 1954 for Shell Oil company, the "Mr Charlie" drilled hundreds of wells in the Gulf of Mexico in water depths to 40 ft. The rig set the stage for platforms that now drill in hundreds of foot depths.

"Mr Charlie" was retired in 1986 and found a new home in Morgan City.
