25th September 2014 - another batch of meaningless letters

I graduated today for the second time in a year. Now, to add to my title of “Linda Mingay BSc Hons (1st class)”, I am now “Linda Mingay BSc Hons (1st Class) PGCE”. All of which would be good if it meant anything at all but it means nothing without a job.

It was lovely to see my friends from the course, however fleetingly and I’m sure my Mum, Dad and DM were proud to see me go and collect my award but for me it was another indication of spectacular failure. I used to have a fantastic (if stressful) job that defined me as a successful person – a businesswoman, a market researcher, a marketer, 30 years’ valuable experience in business and a boss. I had no qualifications. Now I still have those 30 years’ experience coupled with the qualifications and I can’t get a job for love, money or the want of trying.

Mum - thanks for taking this shot for me today.

Hallo again, Linda
You can't get a job as a teacher at the moment, but that is NOT your fault! You have had some great experienceses: See 17th June, 25th June, 27th June, 10th July. You know what you want to do! You have graduated and got your QTS. Your parents are proud of you (as is DM, I guess). Times will change, hopefully for the better. Be proud of yourself! Do as you say 4th June: go learn play the ukulele and keep your fingers crossed (when you're not playing the ukulele, that is)! Ciao, Ragnar

Congratulations are still due and I hope some work will arrive soon and change your outlook.

This shot caught my eye as I was in the same spot on Friday 26th with my Son and his Graduation.
I did enjoy reading about you and your dads book/ life.
