Silver-spotted skipper caterpillar (Epargyreus clarus)

Yet another silver-spotted skipper caterpillar. I have seen many in the past 10 days, but this was the biggest yet. It was not in a leafy feeding shelter, but crawling along a branch of an almost denuded black locust sapling. We moved him to a tree with more fresh green leaves, and hopefully this one will pupate soon.

They are just so interesting looking with that gigantic head and eyes. Another super macro of a world I know nothing much about. V.
