Silver-spotted skipper caterpillar (Epargyreus clarus)

Larose Forest

I was delighted to find this caterpillar today. The silver-spotted skipper is a large, beautiful butterfly and its larva is equally beautiful. What a treat to find this one on a black locust tree.
