North Pasture

Below the fire tower lies the North Pasture. It is often a good place to spot wildlife, like the black bear sitting up in the right center of this image, no doubt enjoying some wild raspberries. As black bears go, she is pretty impressive in size, although it's hard to appreciate from this long distance. I was glad for the distance, however, as there are three cubs - triplets, hidden away in the bushes surrounding her. I would have liked some family pictures, but fortunately I still retain some measure of good sense when behind the lens.

Great nature capture of the bear in her natural environment. I think the wide angle and distance works really well here. V.

Wow, what a catch! She appears to be keeping her wits about her and showing caution on your side of the lens was a good idea I think. Nice shot Kevin. V

Wow! She looks pretty impressive even from that distance. With three cubs I think it wise of you to not approach too closely. But what a thrill to see! V
