This is the first generation of Tokaido Shinkansen which manufactured in 1964. Series 0 Shinkansen is not only the first generation of high-speed train in Japan, but also the first type of high speed train in the world.
The maximum speed of Series 0 Shinkansen is 256 km/ hour. The farewell service of Series 0 Shinkansen was held on 14th December, 2008. The service route was from New Osaka Station to Hakata Station.
