Airy seating

These benches are situated on the far side of Deera Square (pictured below), where public executions are carried out. I can’t imagine what’s situated below it to require these exhausts (or whatever they are), but thought they made for an interesting bench decoration.

I’m going to end this gallery here for now, until we go back to Qasr Al Hokm again, probably soon.

I notice the present tense for public executions, so they are not a thing of the past? That information gives a grim cast to these two shots which are otherwise, beautifully photographed. V
