wanting

Hwy 163, Utah

my 'cultural literacy' was tested here, and once again found wanting...the boys were talking about nabbing the 'Forrest Gump' shot as we drove north, and I had no idea what they meant...not much for movies, I had not seen the film...eventually they identified the spot in the rear-view mirror, so out we hopped to consider the view...it seemed a good backdrop for a dramatic scene, expansive with a monumental horizon

this is along highway 163, north of Monument Valley, and well south of Mexican Hat
