Across the border, south of the 49th parallel, lies the United States. In this gallery are images captured on various visits there. The most recent posts are at the end of the gallery.

First up are photos from one week during May 2013, a scoot down the Oregon Coast, and subsequently inland to the Columbia River Gorge. This jaunt was made in the company of a delightful trio of fellow pbasers.

A second trip was in September 2013, to south-eastern Washington state, specifically an area known as the Palouse. Six days on the road brought into immediacy an entirely different terrain and lifestyle than that found at home. Plus, the weather was sunny and warm, hot in fact, although the simple blue of the sky most days was far from optimal. Still, as photo expeditions go, this one was enjoyable.

A third visit took place during late March and early April 2014...ten days zipping about the American southwest, and that in the company of Sam, Glenn, and Dan, visiting some well known sites, and some more obscure locations as well

a fourth jaunt across the border was to the Olympic Peninsula in Washington state, during a few days in early September 2014, luckily in largely favourable conditions
