Marsh fly (Trypetoptera canadensis)

A rather elegant looking marsh fly. Like many other marsh flies, especially in the genus Tetanocera, this species can help control snails. In this case, it feeds on them, in the case of Tetanocera, the species are parasitic on slugs and snails.
