We are at the end of the line for the UPS delivery man. I waited all day for him because if nobody is home, they can't deliver the package. So, what was I waiting for? A brand new Canon 5D Mk3. I have been coveting this camera for a couple years since it first came out. I had also been reading recently some interesting technical information about it. You might find this article interesting, then again....

I quickly opened the package and pulled the camera out. The battery was in a discharged state, so I took the battery from my Mk2 to fire it up. I put the 100-400 lens on and went out on the driveway and took a few shots. Nothing scientific, but first impressions were very good. I am going to have a lot of reading to do since this is a very complex camera. I expect to get up early in the morning and head out for some shooting before breakfast.

The only reason I was able to convince Ginny that I could get this camera was to say it is my Christmas present. I have used that one quite a few times, and I figure that we are talking about Christmas 2038 for this one.

I try to keep it
simple for the Americans.
