Evening primrose moth (Schinia florida)

Fletcher Wildlife Garden. This gorgeous, vividly coloured moth is associated with the native evening primrose flowers (Oenethera biennis). The moth nectars on the blossoms and females lay their eggs on the plant. The larvae can be found in late summer eating the seed capsules.
