White-marked tussock caterpillar (Orgyia leucostigma) #8316

This is a common caterpillar which later turns into a brownish moth. I found two of these guys, this one and another that was much whiter; both colour forms are common. They were on a nannyberry shrub (Viburnum lentago). If you see one of these spiky creatures, don't touch it as the hairs may cause a reaction in some people.
