In addition to beautiful purple trees (below), coming off the Red Sea were real clouds in Abha, something one rarely sees in Riyadh, and even fog. It was delightful.

This was taken from our hotel balcony when we went back in the afternoon to check out. The road at right doesn’t look so bad, but it’s the one I saw cars literally crawling up the night before. The grades here are incredibly steep and the drops off the side terrifying.
