Connie Bogged on the Grass

Albion Park, NSW, Australia view map

Wings Over Illawarra 2014
Aircraft owned and restored by HARS

Significant rain earlier made the grass very boggy

Too boggy as it turns out for a large aircraft. Wheels up to rims in mud

Bugger. No flying anyway since the cross wind on display day gusted up to 90km/h

I came specifically to see & hear Connie on a low level pass with 4 radial 3350 cubic inch engines providing the motion

Such an elegant looking aircraft - I will be there next May !!!
UPDATE: 2015 cancelled due to heavy rain and storms. 2016 then !!! Third time lucky ...

Perhaps, the World's most beautiful Airplane? From my youth days, but also missed flying in one for days... V

Great Plane. My favorite.
Here is another one. Grounded forever.
