Intricate gate

Several people have commented on the inelegant chair -- it's meant for a watchman or guard and are seen next to a lot of gates in this neighborhood.

That is a truly magnificent gate, and the plastic chair seems out of place...or whimsical. I would love to see on the other side of that gate.

In a few of the images you've posted there are these cheap plastic chairs outside magnificent gates. Kind of incongrous, isn't it? I often feel "left out" because we can't see beyond the gates, but then I've begun to think, "Lucky people. They really get privacy!"
