Days like today try my will. I finished up the week with a workout at work, got excited for some burgers on the grill...and promptly sat in traffic. The drive from work to my house is about 11-12 miles...it took me about an hour and 15 minutes to get home.

While sitting in traffic I had to resign myself to watching the sunlight fade from the confines of my truck rather than my yard, where I can sit with a beer and watch the river go by.
I genuinely considered taking the "HOV" lane...which in my case is the grassy median. It is like pouring salt in the wound to sit for over an hour like that on a paved surface due to laws when you are driving a vehicle that is better offroad than it is on.

Ah well, enough of the complaining. The weather was great today and the light during the drive home was pretty cool. I saw this field and envisioned a "short cut".
