I haven't been able to ID this leaf yet. Perhaps someone will help with that. The leaf was along the Pre Tail in Alton Baker Park, sunlit in a shady area. It jumped out at me. One suggestion is that it is a fern, called Calaguala (Polipodium),commonly used in South America and Spain in the treatment of psoriasis - http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8066104 Another suggestion is Polypodium vulgare, also used for medicine and found in the Pacific Northwest. So perhaps it is more likely that. - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polypodium_vulgare I appreciate the feedback, it is educational.
