Crusader 144427 only served a decade (1960-1970), before it was retired to MASDC at Davis-Monthan. It was put on display at Pima Air Museum in 1980 in a bad condition. It has been restored and now looks nice in its VC-8 colors. It started its career as a F8U-1 (F-8A) and was converted to missile and drone director DF-8F.
