For about a month Ginny has been busy working on the itinerary for our five week trip to Alaska. I doubt that anybody in the world can do the same quality job she does. Well, today she finished her planning. Between the internet and a telephone, she finds a lot of stuff that isn't readily available in the tour books. The completed product of this endeavor is a 17 page spreadsheet with all the details and a two inch binder full of reservations and information about where we are going and what we are going to do. We always figure, being retired, that if you go somewhere that you ought to spend a good bunch of time there. So, this adventure included two cruises, a bunch of land adventures and a trip to Prudhoe Bay. On the latter, I figured that as long as we have gone that far, we should really go north of the arctic circle. I think we will be there at a time with 24hrs of sunshine. How cool is that! Now she is going to get moving on our trip to Iceland. As for me, I have found that it is safest to keep my distance and answer questions when asked. That way nobody gets hurt.

It would be fun to go there. The plane ticket is $850, however.

Go see the grizzlies in Katmai. You could even fly the De Havilland Beaver in yourself

Been there, done that ... the best part of your trip will surely be Vancouver (lived there 25 years). In Alaska, once you've seen the glaciers and the mountains ... well, not much else to see and do! The cruise is a cruise ... do the Caribbean, a lot more fun and see a lot more! Vancouver has so much to do and see ... plus, right now, the US dollar is worth about 11% more than the CAD ... Enjoy your trip! And get a decent camera too eh ...
