Very nicely done, Heidi...nice example of a natural grey monochrome subject. MFC

Hi Nee, sorry for the late answer. Too much family for a few easter days :) As Mark already mentioned, it's a color photo. I brightend the hands a bit, because the look somewhat boring. The grey tones are untouched. Thanks for your comment! Heidi (lochinvar)

Nee, I don't think this is a B & W image, with the hands colored in so to speak. The photographer created a color photograph, the hands are natural. The image (I know I commented already :-) is very well done and, all the greys are truly shades of one color, the hands another color. Monochrome by some definitions are images of one or two tones so, this is monochrome enough to my satisfaction :-) Mark J

I agree...it's very classy! I'm still trying to figure out if it's a toned B&W pic, or a color shot. Looks like the hands might be toned to make them stand out? ~Nee

Monochrome or not? - this is just a classy photo. I really like it. Bev

The photo and it's composition are excellent!!! An adv. quality image.
As for the question of this falling into the category of monochrome (one color)
image or not,I think the image speaks for itself, I'm not here to judge your
compliance. Voters will decide for themselves if this is monochrome? Regards. Mark J

Hi Lochinvar,

You'll need to expect some challenges to this photo as monochrome, but please see my clarification on STF. So, back to the photo... just awesome. The photo would not work without the color in the hands. What's most engaging is that it's not a developed work but rather natural grey tones. Very cool. Jim/Shutter

Hi Anonymous,

you have forgotten to mention your name! Monochrome – shades of one color, not black and white. I called my photo „the business suit“, what means the suit is the central issue of the image. It’s natural greyscaled – monochrome.
Always glad to answer your questions, but next time please don’t forget your name.
