I find it fascinating how the color of the sand changes by location. Here it was very white, while in other places it was golden or red. The terrain also varied -- sometimes just sand, sometimes vegetation dotted the landscape, and the closer we got to the coast and Dhahran, it could almost be called lush with greenery. The air was full of sand on this trip, as evidenced by the sky here.
